We had a wonderful Christmas holiday with both Robert and David home. They have both headed for St Louis to celebrate the New Year. Ray and Kit and I are already trying to get used to the quiet. We are trying to post a picture of Kit. If you see it here, we were successful.

We've created this blog to keep the curious updated on developments at our rural home in Louisburg. We are fairly, almost, possibly sure that Kit will deliver pups in about three weeks. The reason for our uncertainty is mainly inexperience and multiple warnings by those "in the know" about such things that dogs can have false pregnancies. Apparently this is a biological phenomenon designed to make more than one female available to nurse and nurture pups should the mother have to go hunting or meets up with a disaster while the pups are young. So, we remain cautiously optimistic as her waistline expands. Ray has completed building the outdoor section of an indoor/outdoor run off our garage to keep the momma and puppies contained after the pups are able to weather the weather. We are watching and waiting.
