The Captain and Me

Captain Jack attended a recent Benedictine soccer game and caught up with Grandma and extended family. He sure is photogenic. Nice camera Bill! I'm also posting an action shot from the game. Was there a foul here?! The ref didn't call one... Dave wound up in the dirt. You be the judge.

Daisy Doe returns to the ranch

Daisy and her pack (the Fitzpatricks) visited the ranch today. It didn't take long for Daisy to fall into stride with Momma and Sister. She ran like the wind, learned to swim, and played some tug of war with Boo. Her coat is much lighter than Boo's and she has beautiful markings! It was a great playdate. At the end of the day Boo and Kit crash in the closet - where it all began.

Bailey the Beauty

Bailey strikes a pose reminiscent of the World War II poster shot of Rita Hayworth - of course Rita did not have a tennis ball. That over the shoulder look is striking!

Look at that face!

Jack is living large with his very own fountain/tennis ball washer in his yard. Cary and Charlotte found the perfect gift for a Golden pup!

The buzz about Bailey....

Kim sent these pics of Bailey from South Dakota. Bailey and Daisy both continue to have lighter coats than the other pups. They are quite beautiful! Looks like Bailey and Kim are the best of pals and ready for off-road adventure.

Ranger, Captain Jack & Co.

Looks like Jack and Ranger got sitting duties with another golden pup. The pup is having no luck getting any nourishment from Ranger! I love this shot of Jack with his rawhide. He's quite a handsome dude!

Daisy Doe sure did grow!!

Daisy has had plenty of fun with Teagan and Kylie home for the summer doing girl stuff -- playful hugs, nose to nose giggles. Do you think it was Daisy's idea to dress up in a glamorous disguise to avoid the paparazzi?

A good nap spoiled

Sammy cuddles up to Boo for an afternoon siesta.

Sammy wonders, "How can I sleep with all that chomping in my ear?!"

Growing up on the Ranch

Boo is growing into her feet, but it has been very hard to get her to hold still for a photo. Here she finally sat and looked toward the camera for a second. Boo is a strong swimmer, still climbs aboard the golf cart whenever it is on the move, and has inherited Kit's love of retrieving tennis balls.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under Heaven

On Monday May 28th we lost a beloved member of our pack. Lucy (Green Girl) left this world after a short illness that affected the circulation in her intestines. We'll never be completely sure what overcame her so swiftly. Cody and Kasi loved Lucy so much. Their grief is shared by all of the Shaws, Seefeldts, and many families that have come together to love and celebrate this litter. The second photo was taken by Charlotte about two weeks ago, after Lucy splashed around in the river with Ranger and Jack.

Lucy & Jack on the Sidelines

Lucy is visiting the Shaws in South Dakota. Here she and Jack take in a soccer match. Don't they look well behaved?! Charlotte also sent this closeup of Lucy - irresistable!

Naps that we have taken....zzzzz!

On this rainy Sunday in May I have been browsing my pictures of the pups and noticed a theme that fits the weather....Naps! (Ray is on his second of the day). Napping is an art perfected by the canine. Here are shots of some of the cuter ones.

Perils of Puppyhood

Boo has become very fond of riding around the ranch on the golf cart helping Ray with chores. She loves to feel the wind in her ears, and watch her Mommy run along to keep up. Alas, on Sunday she decided to leap from the cart while it was moving, and the back wheel ran over her right front paw. Not to worry though, she forgot all about it by Monday. She did present her wounded limb for inspection and sympathy all day and evening Sunday. Guess Ray will have to install doggy seatbelts.

Puppies on the Edge

Charlotte was in town Saturday and brought Cap'n Jack and the boxer duo Mo and Ali to the ranch for a romp. The pups were extremely interested in the pond, enjoying splashing around and getting muddy. Kit was the only true swimmer, but I predict it won't be much longer til they all are paddling around.

Our pal Sammy

Kit and Sammy the tuxedo cat were pals long before the pups arrived. Boo and Sammy are enjoying sparring with one another. The dogs and cats want to send love to Jack and Kerry who each have had mishaps in recent weeks that have landed them both in the vets office. Kerry has completely recovered from an allergic reaction to something, and Jack chewed up a plastic tag that wreaked havoc on his intestinal tract, and he is still on the mend. Kit says "you kids better be careful!"

Family get together

The spring snow has melted in South Dakota, and Cap'n Jack, Bailey and Ranger spent some time romping in the sun. Kim gets them together for tricks for treats. Looks like they have that "sit" thing down!

Lady Kit Reclines With Her Kaboodle

These two ladies are lovin their warm comfie dog bed on this cold April night. Do you think LL Bean might like this picture for their catalogue?

At Home with Daisy Doe

Daisy has quickly leash trained Moose, her big Lab brother dog. She also demonstrates her moutain goat skills on the lawn furniture. In the evening, she is tucked in with her teddie and placed on her soft, homemade bed. I think Daisy scored big being adopted by the Fitzpatricks!

Favorite Shots

I love this photo Charlotte took right before they left for Texas with Purple girl. The five remaining pups seem to sense that something is different.

And Jack makes three!

Ranger, Cap'n Jack, and Piper are getting plenty of exercise since the polar cap has melted in South Dakota. Even the white doggie is mixing it up in the mud! I love this picture of Ranger and Jack chillin after the 5 mile hike. Father and son, look like their done!

Time moves on....

As each day passes, Kit and Boo are becoming more inseparable. They eat, play and sleep together. Two dogs really are much easier than seven!!!
